How a Jaguar Smart Key Works
Jaguar smart key is a convenient method of locking and unlocking your vehicle from a distance. But, as with all electronic devices it requires electricity, supplied by batteries.
If your Smart Key battery is beginning to degrade, your vehicle may indicate this by an increase in the range of its signals. The center of messages can show an alert "SMART-KEY BATTERY IS LOW".
Keyless Entry
With this feature, you'll be able to enter your Jaguar without having to search through your purse or pockets. The Keylab utilizes proximity sensors to detect the Jaguar Smart Key fob, which triggers your XE's automatic opening. When you get close to the vehicle, just hold any door handle it will be unlocked and then disarm. When you exit your vehicle you can lock it using the door handle or by pressing the key fob.

Panic Alarm

If you're required to replace the battery, simply remove the chrome cover from the key fob, and then slide out the CR2032 battery and replace it with a new one that is facing upwards.
Improved Security
Jaguar offers keys-free entry on many of its models that eliminates the need to fiddle with your keys before heading out for your Irvine commute. The XE utilizes a proximity sensor to locate your key fob as you approach the vehicle. It will open and deactivate the security system when you grab the handle.
